Few cars capture the spirit of 1960s motoring as clearly as the Jaguar E-Type, and this Series 1 4.2 Roadster is a well-documented example. Manufactured in 1965 and first registered in New York the following year, it remained with a single American owner for nearly four decades before arriving in Europe in 2017.
Between 2018 and 2019, the car underwent a complete body-off restoration, supported by an extensive photo report. Every aspect was carefully addressed, from the bodywork to the interior and mechanical components.
The specification is both elegant and distinctive. Finished in Gunmetal Grey with a dark blue leather interior and matching soft top, the car presents a combination that is rarely seen and much appreciated among collectors. Series 1 features such as the glass-covered headlights, small rear lights, toggle switchgear and early-style dashboard confirm its original character.
It retains its original engine, gearbox, and body, all corresponding to the chassis number, which is an essential point for authenticity. The restoration file, with a complete set of photographs, further illustrates the quality of the work carried out.
Carefully maintained in private European ownership since its restoration, this Series 1 Roadster is offered today in excellent order, combining originality, documented history and desirable specification.
