The Jaguar E-Type (or XK-E for the North American market) was launched in 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show. It immediately fascinated the motoring world with its revolutionary design by Malcolm Sayer, a former aeronautical engineer. In 1965, Jaguar introduced an improved version with a more powerful engine: the 4.2-litre, still available as an OTS (roadster) or FHC (Fixed Head Coupé). The 1965 4.2 combined the pure styling of the first series with improved performance and reliability.
