The Revuelto defines the future of the V12 line from Sant’Agata. The naturally aspirated 6.5 litre twelve cylinder is assisted by three electric motors delivering a total of 1015 hp. This hybrid system serves not for efficiency but fills the power at the low end so the combustion engine can scream to 9500 rpm without interruption. The new carbon chassis is much stiffer making it handle sharper than the Aventador. The engine is completely exposed so the engineering is always visible. Inside the seating position is vastly improved and you finally have enough headroom. Nice detail: to accommodate the battery pack centrally Lamborghini mounted the gearbox transversely behind the engine, a layout not seen since the Miura. De atmosferische 6,5 liter twaalfcilinder krijgt bijval van drie elektromotoren en levert een totaal van 1015 pk. Dit hybride systeem dient niet voor zuinigheid maar vult de kracht onderin aan zodat de verbrandingsmotor in één ruk doorhaalt naar 9500 toeren. Het nieuwe carbon chassis is veel stijver waardoor hij strakker stuurt dan de Aventador. De motor ligt volledig open en bloot zodat de techniek altijd zichtbaar is. Binnenin is de zitpositie flink verbeterd en heb je eindelijk genoeg hoofdruimte. Leuk detail: om het accupakket centraal te kunnen plaatsen monteerde Lamborghini de versnellingsbak dwars achter de motor, een lay-out die sinds de Miura niet meer werd toegepast. Le douze cylindres atmosphérique de 6,5 litres est assisté par trois moteurs électriques délivrant un total de 1015 ch. Ce système hybride ne sert pas l'économie mais comble la puissance à bas régime pour que le moteur thermique puisse grimper à 9500 tr/min d'une seule traite. Le nouveau châssis en carbone est bien plus rigide rendant la conduite plus précise que l'Aventador. Le moteur est totalement exposé laissant la mécanique toujours visible. À l'intérieur la position de conduite est nettement améliorée avec enfin suffisamment de garde au toit. Détail intéressant : pour placer le pack batterie au centre Lamborghini a monté la boîte de vitesses transversalement derrière le moteur, une disposition inédite depuis la Miura.
