Born in 1962, this Lotus Elite chassis EB 1744 embodies Colin Chapman's purest vision, a car where lightness is not a choice, but a philosophy.  Designed around a revolutionary fibreglass monocoque, the Elite was one of the first road cars to prove that engineering could be as daring as racing itself. EB 1744 is one of those rare examples that has stood the test of time with elegance.  Powered by the legendary Coventry Climax FWE engine, an all-aluminium four-cylinder renowned for its refinement and temperament, it offers a unique blend of British precision and sporting character.  Lightweight, lively and acoustically crystal clear, the Elite remains one of the most delicate Grand Touring cars of its era. Between 2017 and 2018, EB 1744 underwent a complete restoration, carried out with the respect and precision that a car of this importance requires. The bodywork was completely stripped down and repainted to Lotus' original standards. A rebuilt Coventry Climax engine balanced, tuned and ready for both the road and the track was installed, guaranteeing reliability and performance. The work has been exhaustively documented: an extensive file of invoices, reports and history accompanies the car and attests to the thoroughness of each of the jobs carried out. Renowned for its meticulous preparation and compliance, EB 1744 also has an FIA Technical Passport.  This document opens the doors to the most prestigious historic events, rallies, regularity races, prestigious meetings... a rare invitation for an already highly sought-after model.
