This is an outstanding Aston Martin DB4, originally Left-Hand-Drive, that was delivered new to the United States in July 1962 to Sir S.Salant, Lane Locust Valley, L.I. New York. Since then, it has only had 3 owners.

The chassis number DB4C / 1069 / L is an Aston Martin DB4 Series IV DHC convertible and has been recently restored to its original colour, the very elegant Dubonnet Rosso Metallic combined with a Fawn/ Tan leather interior and tan floor carpets. We love the mythic line of the Superleggera body, designed by Carrozzeria Touring Milano.

The engine 370/943 is the original full “matching numbers” engine , converted to “SS” Special Serie specifications in its early life. The car has an original 4-speed gearbox with overdrive and a new power steering.

A fortune has been spent on its restoration, as evidenced by the expert report carried out recently (report available on request). Here is how the expert describes the condition of the car:
“The base is in beautifully restored condition without trace of damage or rust. The entire underside was protected with a new rust protection layer. The body has been completely restored and is in very good condition. The paint has a deep shine and is homogenous in colour. There are almost no signs of age around the car, nor damage.
The glass is in good condition, the windscreen was recently replaced by an original brand part. The original mirror is still mounted.
The chrome work and the body rubbers were largely renewed and are in very good condition. The black canvas convertible roof was also renewed.”

The vehicle comes with an ultra rare factory hardtop that was recently restored.
It is featured with beautiful Borrani wire wheels, and Michelin tires in “as new” state. An identical spare wheel is present, as well as the necessary original on-board tools.
As part of the restoration, the engine got a major service. The fuel tank was renewed and the exhaust pipe replaced by a stainless steel one. The braking system with disk brakes has been overhauled. And all electric lights were renewed according to original specifications. The car is equipped with 2 seat belts (3 points)

In recent years, we saw the value of the DB4 models rise sharply.
We don’t often have the chance to offer such a beautiful exemplar of one of the greatest icons in the classic world. Only 14 Aston Martin DB4C Serie IV were built Left-Hand-Drive, and the one we have for sale comes with its very rare factory hardtop.
